Dick and Sally Jaynes first worked with Connecticut Farmland Trust in 2004-2005 to preserve their land at 680 Evergreen Ave in Hamden, a property known as Humphrey Evergreen Farms I and II. Dick contacted CFT again in 2022 to donate an easement on their main farm, Broken Arrow Nursery. Dick worked at the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station for 25 years and purchased the land to start his own farm. The farm is now a retail nursery and Christmas tree farm.
